Author-inscribed books: they're not just for Christmas

...But they Do make great Christmas presents! When you buy an eBook or paperback for a friend, I can make it just that little bit more personal by inscribing it for you.

eBooks
Amazon.com has a clever Give as a Gift button on the book's page, where you can add your message, your friend's email address, the the date that you want the book sent.

Amazon.co.uk  is a bit more of a faff, but you can send a gift card to your friend and let them know it's for a book. The order page is here.

To make an eBook inscription request, pop along to Authorgraph and be sure to tell me in the note who the book is for and who you are, so that I can personalise it for you. The inscription will go to whichever email you include.

Paperbacks
All of my books are available in paperback on Amazon globally, and I can inscribe them for you with a bookplate that I'll send to you to stick into the front of the book.

Just order your books on Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or the Amazon in your country, and go here to tell me who to inscribe the book to, the occasion, and who you are so that I can make it nice and personal :-)

I'm happy to sign as many as you'd like!
Happy Christmas and happy reading,
xoxo

Christmas is coming early... at least for me

Sleighbells ring, are you listenin'? In the lane, snow is glistenin' ... Well, not exactly, but I have to pretend that it is, because I'm writing my Christmas novella!

One winter wedding, two happy couples, three Ghosts of Boyfriends Past. And a very uncomfortable weekend.

Carol hates Christmas. Being recently dumped, she’s not crazy about weddings either. So her sister’s nuptials, over the Christmas weekend, are making her positively Scrooge-like. When she arrives for the weekend at the stately home in rural Scotland to find her three ex-boyfriends in attendance, Carol has no choice but to face her ghosts to discover what really happened in those relationships, learning a lot about herself in the process. As the snow falls outside and the fire crackles in the hearth, might one of the wedding guests become the harbinger of Christmases to come?

Christmas Carol will publish globally on October 24th

SUNLOUNGER: The women's fiction anthology of the Summer!

I'm incredibly proud to be part of SUNLOUNGER, the women's fiction anthology that launches today! Thanks to the fabulous Belinda Jones, more than 40 fantastic women's fiction authors have come together with short stories set in exotic locales ... from St Petersburg to the South of France, Dubai to Thailand. My little story, Cabin Pressure, is based in Hong Kong.

It's been a long time in the making, and we had such a fun time back in February doing the photo shoot - here are some pics...

This makes perfect holiday reading, and is available globally on Amazon:

Amazon UK
Amazon US

Happy Sunlounging!
XOXO

Killing for the greater good

... characters, that is... what did you think? I'm a chick lit writer who bakes cupcakes - not exactly the serial killer type, am I?

I've been struggling for the past several months with a manuscript. I've got the story firmly in my head, and I love it. I began writing at the beginning of January, and nearly three months later, I have 5,000 words to show for it. At this rate I will finish it right around the time Her Majesty's government sends me my pensioner's bus pass.

Something has been stopping me, throwing up roadblocks and sapping my motivation. Why wouldn't I want to write this book?

Fake reviews on Goodreads now?

Some of you know well my stance on paid-for reviews, so you'll imagine my reaction to this message on Goodreads, which I received this morning:

Dear Michele,
I absolutely loved the synopsis of your book!!! I am looking very forward to read it.
I have a proposition to make. I do paid book reviews and I would like to review your book very much.
